The Bargain Books store in Watercrest Mall, Hillcrest, was not touched by rampaging looters.

It is going to take months for the Watercrest Mall to be back in operation again after shops and infrastructure were damaged during overnight raids on Tuesday.

Greg Worst, regional head of KwaZulu-Natal Growthpoint, said they are still surveying the extent of the damage at the mall.

Growthpoint is the landlord for Watercrest. “It appears from the footage that we have most of the shops have been looted and destroyed,” said Worst.
