Fears that Jacob Zuma followers might desecrate the grave of Judge Jerome Mnguni if he is buried in Pietermaritzburg have been raised by his brother in court papers.

Funulwazi Mnguni also says in an affidavit before the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Wednesday that the judge’s family had all agreed they should “discuss the option of a post-mortem”.

Because his death “came suddenly” and in light of threats he had received after his recent judgment against Zuma, “the family wants certainty that his death was the result of natural causes,” said Funulwazi.
