Win is vital for promotion

CAPE TOWN — Polokwane City travel to Black Leopards tomorrow knowing that victory will ensure promotion and R20 million in PSL grants.

The teams are separated by just one point in the promotion play-off log and both teams know that a victory will earn vital promotion to the Premier Soccer League.

Leopards coach Kosta Papic said Sunday’s promotion-relegation clash against Polokwane City will be a clash of two very different philosophies.

Leopards are one point behind Polokwane in the promotion play-off log and must win tomorrow to ensure their promotion to the Absa Premiership for next season.

Polokwane City have been rock solid at the back and have not conceded a single goal in their three play-off matches to date. Coach Boebie Solomons must be furiously analysing his tactics for this game, knowing that a draw is enough to secure the lucrative promotion ahead of Leopards.

Papic is confident in his side’s attacking ability and is hopeful that his team will be able to break the defence of Polokwane City.

Polokwane City captain Thapelo Tshilo is also confident that his side has all but sewn up promotion.
