Both new and well-established authors have made the cut, with genres and themes ranging from family relationships to motherhood, rural poverty and isolation, addiction, identity and belonging, race and class, grief and happiness, coming-of-age, as well as later life.

The novels themselves are set in diverse locations, from South London to America’s Deep South, Ghana, Hong Kong, Barbados, Brooklyn and even a fantasy realm.
