An ICU doctor’s warning: ‘We are all responsible’

We all have a responsibility to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

That’s the message from Pietermaritzburg’s Dr Brett Cullis, who has been working on the frontline of the Covid-19 pandemic for the past year.

Based at Life Hilton Hospital, he has been on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, caring for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). “It has been an extremely tiring time, both emotionally and physically,” Cullis said. “People have pushed themselves to the limit.”
