The forensic report into a multi-million rand electricity tender fraud, with damning findings, has rattled City Hall — but some are suspicious of the timing of its release.

Among those implicated in the Morar Incorporated report are the former mayor, Chris Ndlela; the former City boss, Mxolisi Nkosi, and his deputy who headed infrastructure, Sabatha Nomnganga; Msunduzi’s chief audit executive, Petrus Mahlaba, as well as the contractor TNT Energy Projects.

On Thursday Mahlaba told The Witness he intended to take the report on review and have it set aside because “it is wrong in facts and also in law”.
