Declaring workers unproductive is not easy, says Msunduzi

The Msunduzi council is grappling with disciplining underperforming workers because of the difficulty in proving that some of them are “unproductive”. 

Finance head, Nelisiwe Ngcobo, this week told the financial services portfolio committee that the City would have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that a staff member had been unproductive. 

Ngcobo said investigations would have to be done by the internal audit unit before anything could be done. The investigations would be preceded by assessment on staff productivity said Ngcobo.
