Hundreds of people gathered on Thursday to support three members of Abahlali baseMjondolo (ABM) who were arrested over an alleged conspiracy to kill a key witness in a murder trial.

ABM deputy president, Mqapheli Bonono (39) and ABM members Sniko Miya (29) and Maphiwe Gasa (29) made a brief appearance at the Durban Magistrates’ Court. The three are charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

The state alleges they hosted a meeting in which they plotted to kill a man.
