Beaches in the north of Durban remain closed.
Beaches in the north of Durban remain closed.

Beaches north of Durban remain closed following last month’s chemical spill resulting from the torching of a factory in Cornubia.

All activities, including fishing, swimming, surfing, harvesting of sea creatures are still not allowed as this can cause exposure to the toxic chemicals that can be harmful to human health.

The spill was caused by a fire set to a chemical warehouse in Cornubia during last month’s unrest.
