Business owners on Tuesday warned eThekwini Municipality Mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda, that the private sector was losing confidence in Durban.

“Our faith in the government has been shaken to the very core,” said Brian Wright, managing director of Urban MGT. Wright was speaking during an inspection visit by the mayor and Durban Executive Council (Exco) members to the Cornubia Industrial Business Estate (CIBE).

A total of 16 companies were looted on the small stretch of road, while eight of them were torched during the civil unrest last week.
