The Durban International Film Festival (Diff) has rescinded it’s invite to an Israeli filmmaker in a show of solidarity with the people of Palestine.

Yaki Ayalon, a Nigerian-born Israeli filmmaker said he received an e-mail from Diff last week telling him that his film will not be presented at this year’s festival.

“We will not present any films by Israeli filmmakers at the Diff while the rights of Palestinians and their oppression continues unabatedly by the Israeli government,” the e-mail read.
