Police are looking for a gunman who shot and killed a high profile forensic attorney in Durban North.
The shooting happened on Tuesday morning while the attorney was driving to work.
The attorney crashed his car into the gate of a business premises along Armstrong Avenue in La Lucia according KZN VIP Protection.
“Paramedics and Response Officers found the man in a high end luxury vehicle, riddled with bullet holes. It is believed that the driver rammed though the gate of a businesses premises, and came to rest in the yard,” said KZN VIP Protection
“Efforts to resuscitate the man was futile and he was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.”
A security source told The Witness that there were no bullet cases on the scene.
“That means the gunman must have installed a basket under their gun so the bullet cases dont fall on the floor. It is going to be hard for police to collect the evidence. This looks like a professional assassination,” said the source.
The shooting happened near the Crawford College private school while some learners were still making their way into the school.
“Parents from the schools described what sounded like incessant gunfire. When you look at the damage on the car it is clear that an automatic rifle was being used,” said the source.
Colonel Thembeka Mbhele, Provincial Police Spokesperson said the man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body.
