A second person is expected to appear in the Umlazi Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for the murder of Sergeant Siyabonga Radebe.

The 34-year-old police official was stationed at the Umlazi K9 unit.

He was shot while playing pool at C Section in Umlazi, outside Durban on June 15.

At the time he was off-duty.

Hawks spokesperson, Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo, said, “It is alleged that two suspects entered the place and fired several shots at him. He was taken to hospital for medical attention and was declared dead on arrival.”

He said that the alleged killer was arrested on Monday.
