The bilateral talks between the ANC and IFP to govern uMvoti Municipality proved fruitless when the IFP dropped its bombshell at the inaugural council meeting on Monday.

The Witness received reports from sources at the council meeting that the IFP decided to join the Abantu Batho Congress (ABC) after the ruling party allegedly refused to remove councillor Thami Ngubane from his position as mayor of uMvoti Municipality.

However, the IFP dismissed these allegations.
