13-hour planned power outage for Msunduzi areas

Msunduzi residents could be left without electricity for 13 hours this coming Sunday, on December 5.

This was announced by the municipality in an urgent notice issued on Tuesday.

The municipality said their electricity department would be conducting maintenance of its Pine Primary Substation on Sunday.

It said that the planned interruption would allow electricity teams to conduct operations for maintenance purposes.

According to the City, the expected power outage is scheduled to start at 6:30am and will last until 7:30pm.

Areas that will be affected includes Clarendon, Wembley, Parts of Montrose, City West, Prestbury, Boughton, Blackridge, Lower Mount Michael, Payphini, Chatterton Road, Showgrounds, Victoria Road, Greyling up to Commercial Road, Boom street, Boshoff above Commercial Road, Clough Street and Quarry Road.

Havelock Road, Pine Street, Pietermaritz Street, Drury Lane, Printing office street, Princess Street, Standard lane, West street, Chapel Street, Old Howick Road, SABC towers, and so rounding areas will also be without electricity during the planned outage.

The municipality members of the public to treat all electricity equipment and installations as live at all time, even during planned outages.
