Accused survivor of deadly KZN cash heist pleads his innocence

A man, who allegedly participated in a cash-in-transit heist which ended with two police officers and seven assailants being killed, is standing trial in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.

The incident took place in February 2019 on the R618 near Bazini, which is in the Nongoma area.

Sandile Gumede (30) has pleaded not guilty to a string of charges related to the incident.
