Newcastle-based companies, accused of releasing pollutants into the town’s water system, have apparently failed to comply with a Pietermaritzburg high court order.

This comes after the companies were ordered by the court last Wednesday to create a safe and compliant way for their water to be discharged.

The companies, owned by Faizel Cassim, who was a mayoral candidate for ActionSA, were given a deadline of Friday.
