ANC confirms recall of Umvoti municipality mayor Thami Ngubane

The ANC in the Inkosi Bhambatha Region confirmed on Thursday that the party’s regional executive committee had taken a decision to recall the mayor of uMvoti Local Municipality, Thami Ngubane.

The Witness established that the leadership of the ANC in the region held numerous meetings last month to discuss his fate.

Regional chairperson Lucky Moloi denied that the decision was due to factionalism.“The decision has nothing to do with the divisions in the ANC. The decision has been communicated with the ANC in the province. The provincial leadership is [currently] working on it.
