Cebisile Nzimande was among the seven people killed in the R56 crash, near Richmond on Saturday.

Cebisile Nzimande’s three children were orphaned by Saturday’s R56 horrific crash that claimed seven lives near Richmond.

The nurse, Nzimande, was on her way to work from Richmond to Pietermaritzburg when a minibus taxi she was travelling in collided head-on with a Toyota Land Cruiser just after 6 pm on Saturday.

A source at the scene told The Witness that the taxi was seriously damaged, and the emergency teams had to use the Jaws of Life in order to cut through the wreckage and free a number of injured passengers that were trapped inside.
