The Inkatha Freedom Party insists that Velenkosini Hlabisa is not a “stooge president”, despite him not being the face of its election campaign.

“Hlabisa is not a stooge president, he is the president of the IFP and he continues to do the work of the president of the IFP,” said Mkhuleko Hlengwa MP, IFP national spokesperson.

Hlengwa was speaking in Durban on Wednesday where the party was briefing the media on its state of preparedness for the elections.
