A Hammarsdale man who shot his police officer girlfriend 12 times and then left her for dead before returning, was on Thursday sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment.
Thabiso Ndlovu (28) was sentenced in the Camperdown Magistrate’s Court for the murder of Thandiwe Mavinini (33) on June 11, 2019, following an argument.
During the trial, Ndlovu argued that he shot Mavinini in self-defence after they were jostling for the gun.
