uMngeni mayor Christopher Pappas says his first month as the political head of a municipality has been challenging yet fulfilling.

Pappas said when the new council’s term started last month, they discovered there has been no investment in maintaining infrastructure and equipment.

There were also no funds available even though several issues needed to be resolved.
