A man has appeared in court after joggers Sunil Parekh (59) and Anil Singh (55) were killed on Saturday during their morning run in Trurolands, Tongaat.

The news of the deaths rocked the athletic fraternity in the KZN North Coast, as Parekh was a notable member of the Tongaat Panthers athletics club.

Chairperson of the club, Keshini Maharaj, said Parekh would have celebrated his 59th birthday on Monday.
