Eight people were killed in a tragic crash on Sunday night involving a car and a minibus taxi near Nseleni on the N2 in an area called Canefields.

Robert McKenzie, KZN EMS spokesperson, said paramedics treated 13 people for injuries ranging from critical to minor at the scene before they were taken to hospital.

The cause of the accident is still unknown at this stage but is being investigated by police, said McKenzie.

This is a developing story.
