The South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) in uMgungundlovu has pledged support to the incoming leadership in uMngeni, saying its members would co-operate with the DA.

Samwu uMgungundlovu secretary Linda Gcabashe said the union had previously said any municipal workers implicated in corruption must be held accountable.

This comes after DA leader John Steenhuisen vowed during their campaign that the DA would embark on an audit of all major infrastructure projects.
