A third taxi-related killing in Tongaat last week has caused the South African National Taxi Association (Santaco) to try and speed up elections in the industry.

Santaco’s provincial office manager, Sifiso Shangase, said there is cause for concern in the province regarding violence in the taxi industry.

Last Thursday, Reaction Unit South Africa reported that a taxi boss was shot and killed in Burbreeze, Tongaat.
