Reconstruction and Development Programme (RDP) houses that were supposed to be expedited as part of the eThekwini Municipality’s Covid-19 response were not completed due to poor workmanship.

During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the City identified two housing projects to be expedited — the Kennedy Road: Dodoma Site and Amaoti Housing Projects.

In total, 991 houses — 45 in Kennedy and 946 in Amaoti — were supposed to be built to house indignant families.
