First-year students could struggle to adapt to university life if they are forced to do all their learning online.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, university campuses are closed and staff and students have been told to prepare for both online registration and classes.

Philani Mncwabe, spokesperson for the students’ representative council (SRC) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), is concerned that many students don’t have computers, which will make it impossible for them to study.
