Former ANC member of the KZN provincial legislature and Cato Ridge’s interim chief, Zibuse Mlaba, died in a hail of bullets on Thursday.

The former KwaXimba Traditional Council leader was gunned down at the Wareing’s Shopping Centre, in Cato Ridge. Sources close to the investigation believe this was a hit as nothing was taken from him after he was killed.

uMgungundlovu police spokesperson Captain Kholeka Mhlongo said Mlaba was shot seven times, including on the head, chest and back. The two gunmen fled in a white VW Polo.
