ActionSA leader, Herman Mashaba is demanding action against the perpetrators of the unrest.

As pressure piles on government to act against the orchestrators of the recent riots, ActionSA has threatened to act against President Cyril Ramaphosa if nothing is done.

Briefing the media during a virtual press conference on Tuesday, ActionSA leader, Herman Mashaba , said the government has failed to show urgency in the matter of the riots. “What we want to see is the arrest of the ringleaders. The people who are currently being arrested are not the ringleaders.

“What we saw was an attempted insurrection and yet each time cabinet meets, the matter is just being treated like any other matter on the agenda,” he said. While the riots were as a result of the ANC internal battles, Mashaba said, the fact that the orchestrators of the riots wanted to overthrow the government made it a serious matter, which required Ramaphosa to set up a commission of inquiry to probe the riots.
