The KwaZulu-Natal premier, Sihle Zikalala, has moved into self-isolation after he recently came into contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19.

Zikalala said he has not shown any symptoms of Covid-19 and is well. He will carry on working from home, under strict adherence to all Covid-19 protocols, said a statement from the premier’s office.

The work will include coordinating meetings aimed at leading the provincial government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Zikalala has wished all citizens who are battling the pandemic strength and a speedy recovery.

“The KZN government is intensifying all efforts to beat and defeat the Covid 19 pandemic. This work includes ramping up the vaccination programmes across all the districts and the metropolitan areas in KZN,” said the statement.
