The oThongathi Mall has hit another bump on the road.

The partially-built site remains a white elephant in the Tongaat CBD, as the owners are locked in a court battle to remove the former builders from the site since February.

Speaking on the progress of the proceedings, Emarie Botha, one of the shareholders and wife of the mall’s managing director Johan, told The Witness that the oThongathi Mall has most recently undergone a two-week arbitration with the builders, which concluded on Friday.
