ANC secretary-general, Ace Magashule, who is fighting for his political survival in the wake of calls within the ANC for him to step down, on Thursday visited former president Jacob Zuma in Nkandla.
The visit comes after the ANC national executive committee (NEC) ordered him to step down from his position in line with the party’s resolution that members facing criminal charges should step down from both their government and party positions.
Magashule on Thursday said he received guidance from Zuma. “I do have some guidance. Not counselling, guidance. and I will brief you once I’ve consulted everybody. Generally we were discussing the party. Because remember the step-aside so-called, it’s not about Ace Magashule,” said Magashule.
