A 42-year-old man was killed after he was thrown out of his car in an accident on the M27 in Tea Estate, Inanda, on Friday morning.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said they were contacted by a passer-by at around 7.30 am requesting assistance after they saw the wreckage on the side of the road.

When Reaction Officers and RUSA medics arrived at the scene, they found a man lying several meters away from a grey Volvo S40.

The vehicle has Gauteng registration plates.

RUSA said the man was found to have suffered life threatening injuries and had died before paramedics arrived.

Circumstances leading up to the accident have not been confirmed, however RUSA said it is believed that the man lost control of his car which left the road before it overturned several times.

The driver was ejected in the process.
