The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal, had by late on Monday not yet taken action against KZN members affected by their step-aside rule forcing members facing criminal charges to vacate their positions.

There are currently more than 20 ANC members in KZN affected by the rule.

ANC provincial spokesperson, Nhlakanipho Ntombela, said the party has not told any of the affected members, including former eThekwini Municipality mayor, Zandile Gumede, to vacate their positions as councillors and MPLs.
