“IT was certainly a difficult year in which to try and finish strong. The obvious — and yet no less difficult— challenge, was trying to effectively learn while away from school.”

These are the words from a Grade 12 top achiever, Paul Johann Tönsing from Hermannsburg school near Greytown. Tönsing (19), a sport fanatic, said being a top achiever at the school did not come as a miracle, but it was through his hard work and dedication to his studies.

“I had quite a full plate, doing 10 subjects. Eight were NSC subjects: mathematics, English, Afrikaans, German, physical sciences, life sciences, geography, and life orientation.
