A man was shot dead by police after he embarked on a shooting spree in the KZN Midlands

The man embarked on a deadly rampage moving between towns to carry out his shooting spree, before he later died in shoot-out with police.

One of the children is believed to have been the man’s five-year-old son.

The killing started when the 26-year-old security guard allegedly shot and killed his 40-year-old colleague in the bushy area at New Formosa, near Estcourt. He then burnt the man’s body. The security guards were both employed by Ballid Security company.
