Three children died at Springview in Ixopo on Monday afternoon when an old rondavel they were playing in caught on fire.

The mayor of uBuhlebezwe Municipality, Elizabeth Ngubo, said the three children were playing inside an old rondavel.

“Two of them were from the family where the rondavel burned, while the other one was from the neighbour’s,” said Ngubo.

“This is a very painful incident... However, it is also important for the parents to supervise minors when they are playing all the time.”
