The University of KwaZulu Natal is ready to accommodate next year’s applicants despite the fact that the 2020 matric exam results are only going to be announced on February 23 next year.

The Department of Basic Education announced this month that the matric class of 2020 will sit for final exams from November 5 until December 15.

While the recent trend has been for exam results to be announced in early January, Education Minister Angie Motshekga has said the 2020 results will be announced on February 23. To ensure that matriculants are not compromised by the late release of the Grade 12 results, Minister Motshekga said several universities in South Africa have agreed to extend the academic year to the end of February 2021.
