uMgungundlovu District Municipality is going after its former officials to recover the millions that were lost in the Amaraka Investment 37 contract debacle.

The municipality has written to seven implicated officials asking them to “assist” the municipality to recoup the money.

Municipal manager, Dr Ray Ngcobo, said this came after some of the expenditure that had been incurred as part of the agreement with Amaraka was declared as irregular and wasteful by the auditor-general (AG).
