The acting municipal manager in uMngeni, Sandile Buthelezi, must convene and preside over the inaugural council meeting for the municipality on Monday.

This was the judgment handed down by Pietermaritzburg high court judge Sidwell Mngadi on Thursday.

Mngadi ruled in favour of the DA and found that Thembeka Cibane was still under suspension and had no business being present at the inaugural council meeting in uMngeni on Friday last week. Both Cibane and Buthelezi are liable for costs.
