One person died in a multi-vehicle crash on the N2 in Richards Bay on Tuesday morning.

A taxi driver (35) died and nine other people were injured after three cars collided on the N2 in the Nseleni area, Richards Bay, on Tuesday morning.

It’s alleged that the driver, whose name has not been released by the police, was trying to avoid a bakkie overtaking on a sharp bend when he lost control of his taxi and plowed into the bus.

According to sources at the scene, a bakkie carrying pupils veered off the road and overturned. One pupil was injured and others sustained minor injuries.
