People from around KwaZulu-Natal are still in disbelief after witnessing what most of them thought were shooting stars or Santa doing his yearly rounds over the weekend.

Videos emerged on social networks from people in different parts of KwaZulu-Natal showing something strange in the sky.

Those believing the sighting to be wishing stars didn't waste any time as they were heard wishing for husbands and money in some of the videos.

A post on the astronomy - ASSA Johannesburg Centre Facebook page proposed that the lights were probably the re-entry of the SL-4 rocket booster from a rocket which launched the latest cosmonauts to the International Space Station on December 11.
