Staff at the Afriski Mountain Resort in Lesotho woke to a winter wonderland on Friday.

Martin Schultz, who works at the ski lodge, said that around 10cm of snow had already fallen, adding: "And, it's still dumping down!"

Roads into the mountain kingdom are closed to 2x4 vehicles, but those with 4x4s should manage the trip.

Snow has also been forecast for parts of the Drakensberg, but The Witness was unable to confirm if any had fallen because of the dense bank of clouds covering the mountains on Friday.
