A woman was killed on Thursday night when she was struck by a taxi on the R103, 10km outside of Ladysmith, KwaZulu Natal.

Russel Meiring, ER24’s spokesperson, said when paramedics got to the scene just before 8.30 pm, they found the woman lying on the road and the taxi that had struck her was parked a short distance away.

Meiring said the woman had suffered numerous injuries and was in a critical condition. She was taken to hospital but succumbed to her injuries and died shortly after arriving in hospital.
