While most Pietermaritzburg malls experienced a quiet Black Friday, Liberty Midlands Mall was abuzz with shoppers.

Scores of shoppers were at the mall hoping to score big bargains on appliances and food.

Malls in Pietermaritzburg including Scottsville Mall, Woodburn also in Scottsville and Hayfields were all heavily guarded by private security and the South African Police Service (SAPS).
