Power is not likely to be completely restored to all areas in the northern suburbs by Christmas Day.

This was confirmed by Msunduzi municipal manager Madoda Khathide on Wednesday. He said at least 60% of residents “may have their power restored” by Christmas Day.

He was speaking during a press briefing at City Hall where the municipality was providing an update on the prolonged electricity supply interruptions stemming from last Thursday’s explosion at the primary substation.
