A vocal group of protestors dressed in black is demanding that the Department of Justice crackdown on gender-based violence.

Brandishing signs, some of which were written on women’s underwear, they travelled to the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court to show their support for a woman who was brutally assaulted.

Sinikiwe Biyela, director of LifeLine Pietermaritzburg, helped organise the protest.
