A group of ANC supporters in Copesville are disputing the outcome of Sunday's branch general meeting (BGM) where ward councillor Sphamandla Madlala was re-elected as secretary.

The group, which is led by Ward 29 SACP chairperson Mxolisi Nxumalo, are also claiming they were blocked from entering the meeting venue which was at the Copesville Secondary School.

However, Madlala on Sunday told The Witness the group refused to enter the venue after they realised they would be scanned to verify their places of residence. Madlala claimed the group were no longer residents of the ward and would have been exposed had they been scanned.
