A man, who freed his kidnapped sister from her abusive boyfriend by killing him in Eastwood, was on Monday sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment.

Mbukiswa Mkhize (36) pleaded guilty in the Pietermaritzburg high court in terms of a plea agreement to killing Zaminkosi Ndlovu on October 6, 2019.

Reading out the agreement, his attorney, Bongani Mbatha, said that Ndlovu and Mkhize had known each other since 2014 when Nokulunga Mkhize began dating Ndlovu.
